High Tides & City Rides is a travel-lifestyle project created by husband-and-wife team Anthony and Deanna Richardson. We’ve been together for more than three decades, and travel has been part of our story from the very beginning — from early road trips and quick weekend escapes to resort stays, family vacations, and work trips that turn into mini adventures.
Over the years, we’ve collected our share of airport stories, hotel wins, packing lessons, loyalty-program experiments, and destination highlights. This site, along with our videos and social channels, is where we share what we’ve learned in a way that’s practical, honest, and easy to use.
We met in the 1990s, and one of the things that brought us together — and still keeps us close — is exploring new places. Sometimes that means a big destination we’ve saved and planned for; other times it’s a last-minute booking to make the most of a long weekend.
Through all of it, we’ve learned that the details matter: the hotel you choose, the way you pack, the gear you rely on, the apps you use, and the loyalty programs you take advantage of. Those small decisions add up to smoother trips, fewer headaches, and more space to actually enjoy the experience.
Friends and family often asked us for hotel suggestions, travel hacks, and product recommendations, so we decided to build a home for all of it — a place where we could share our favorite finds and lessons learned with a wider community.
High Tides & City Rides brings together travel, lifestyle, and everyday upgrades in one place. We focus on content that is rooted in real use, not just press photos or product descriptions.
Most of what we highlight are items, destinations, and partners we’ve personally used or experienced. When we use affiliate links, we disclose them and keep our recommendations grounded in what we honestly think will help travelers like you.
